The role of strategy when you’re drowning in opportunity

Product/Services: Sensors, Hardware, Software, Service

Sector On-highway vehicles

Turnover: £46m

Headcount: 336

Situation:

Successful organic growth had led to a complex product, service and market structure. The company had outgrown its original vision and strategy and was faced with a confusing range of opportunities and choices with no clear or obvious route forwards.

O&P Approach and Outcome:

The business product market group structure was defined, competitive positioning analysed and opportunities and capabilities were explored, prioritised and selected. A vision and mission and underpinning strategy were developed. Strategic imperatives were discussed and created to provide clarity, focus, direction and leadership team alignment. Objectives, initiatives and metrics were developed to deploy the strategy across the organisation. Over a four year period, the company grew annual revenue from £33m to £46m.
